Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key targets, deliver exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance; review cameras for risk assessment.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet industry knowledge, and expertise in operations, sales, and customer service. Must thrive in dynamic environments, delegate effectively, and prioritize safety and engagement.
