Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build engagement through open communication and recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance; collaborate on events and adoption partnerships.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance metrics; execute corporate strategies; review security footage for coaching; handle sick pet protocols and store opening/closing.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in fast-paced settings, pet industry knowledge, financial acumen, and skills in team motivation, customer service, and operational efficiency. Proficiency in HR tools, inventory systems, and safety protocols is essential.
