Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service, efficient execution, and targeted business results in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, foster engagement, and handle grievances to build high-performing teams.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; deliver outstanding pet parent service in-store, online, and via phone; conduct safety walks and compliance checks.
- Business Management: Analyze metrics, execute corporate strategies for profitability, manage inventory, review security footage for coaching, and lead openings/closings.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of retail management experience, proven leadership in team building and development, strong customer service skills, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Flexibility for varied shifts and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting are essential. Pet care knowledge is a plus.
