Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences, ensure pet safety, resolve concerns, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain inventory compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze metrics, optimize processes, and partner on in-store events and community adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and operational excellence. Must thrive in dynamic settings with flexible availability.
