Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision by driving culture, achieving results, and delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions, resolve concerns, maintain standards via monthly walks, and prioritize safe environments.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance, manage inventory, review security footage for coaching, and collaborate on events and adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and process improvement. Flexibility for varied shifts and a passion for pets are essential.
