Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build open-door culture and respond to feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead associate and customer interactions; ensure pet safety; resolve escalations; maintain standards via monthly walks; prioritize safety and inventory compliance.
- Operations & Financials: Communicate objectives; review cameras for accountability; manage openings/closings; partner on events and adoptions; transport sick pets to vets as needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service expertise, financial oversight, and passion for pets. Must excel in delegation, conflict resolution, compliance, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced environment.
