Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; foster open-door culture, deliver reviews, and boost engagement through recognition.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; manage escalations, conduct compliance walks, oversee inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance, optimize processes, partner on events, and maintain policy compliance.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, operations, and financial accountability. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and passion for pet care. Flexible scheduling is essential.
