Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, drive results, and build an exceptional store environment while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, deliver reviews, and foster engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and respond to concerns via phone, in-person, or online.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze metrics, communicate objectives, and partner on community events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, P&L accountability, and a pet-passionate mindset. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer service mastery, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands.
