Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain standards via monthly walks, manage inventory, review cameras for compliance, and handle sick pets.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and optimize processes for efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, operational oversight, and adaptability to dynamic environments. Flexible scheduling is essential.
