Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; foster open-door culture and handle grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; deliver outstanding pet parent service in-store, online, and by phone.
- Operations & Compliance: Manage inventory, conduct monthly walks, review cameras for safety, and lead events with adoption partners.
- Financial & Strategic: Communicate objectives, optimize processes, and respond to business changes for targeted results.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet industry knowledge, and passion for customer service. Must excel in delegation, financial oversight, and creating positive environments. Flexible availability required.

- Lead recruiting, hiring, coaching, and performance management for store team
- Ensure exceptional pet parent service and resolve escalated concerns
- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with company policies
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and safety protocols
- Foster associate engagement through recognition, training, and development
