Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, interview, hire, coach, and manage associate performance; build an open-door culture; create schedules; facilitate training, reviews, and succession planning; recognize achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; handle pet parent concerns; maintain standards via monthly walks; manage inventory and events; review cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; optimize processes for sales and efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and customer-centric operations. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
