Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values, driving targeted results through exemplary leadership, exceptional service, and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using Voice of Associate feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions, conduct Core and Services Walks, monitor cameras, and manage inventory compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance, communicate objectives, and partner on in-store events and community adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team development and customer service, financial acumen, and a pet-passionate mindset. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and fostering high engagement in dynamic retail settings.
