Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop associates, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks and camera reviews.
- Operations & Financials: Manage inventory, communicate objectives, improve processes, and partner on events with adoption groups.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce policies, handle grievances, and respond to pet health issues with immediate vet transport if needed.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, financial savvy, and a passion for customer service. Proficiency in HR functions, scheduling, and operational tools is essential. Must thrive in dynamic environments, delegate effectively, and inspire teams to exceed goals.
