Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health, deliver outstanding pet parent service across channels, maintain store standards, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and prioritize safety through camera reviews and incident response.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events like community adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, financial acumen, and a passion for pet care. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced retail setting.
