Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open-door culture and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service; maintain standards via monthly walks; manage inventory, events, and compliance; review cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; prioritize safe environments and process improvements.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service, operations, and financial outcomes. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, pet care knowledge, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Passion for pets and community involvement is a plus.
