Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance; review cameras for risk assessment.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance metrics; execute corporate strategies; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in team building and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, operational efficiency, and HR proficiency. Experience in pet retail is a plus.
