Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, achieve key results, and deliver exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open communication and engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; manage customer interactions; conduct monthly walks; monitor compliance and inventory; lead events and openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics; communicate objectives; drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include team building, conflict resolution, inventory control, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible scheduling is essential.
