Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive oversight of store safety, customer experience, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering targeted results through exemplary leadership and efficient execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety, exceptional pet parent service, compliance with policies, and smooth event execution.
- Business Management: Analyze performance metrics, execute strategies for profitability, manage inventory, and monitor security via cameras.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong P&L experience, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team empowerment, process improvement, conflict resolution, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Flexible availability is essential.

- Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred (experience)

- Lead recruitment, hiring, coaching, scheduling, and performance reviews for associates
- Drive exceptional customer service and resolve escalated pet parent concerns
- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct safety walks, and manage inventory levels
- Analyze business metrics, execute corporate strategies, and achieve profitability goals
- Foster company culture, associate engagement, and succession planning
