Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve results, champion service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; build open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; address grievances and celebrate engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead pet parent interactions; maintain standards via monthly walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and camera reviews; handle sick pets and store procedures.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; collaborate on events and adoption partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, operations, and financial oversight. Key skills include delegation, empowerment, process improvement, compliance, and adaptability in a fast-paced pet retail environment. Passion for pets and flexible availability required.
