Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and prioritize a safe, compliant environment.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and collaborate on events and community partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume settings, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, customer obsession, financial acumen, and adaptability in a fast-paced retail environment. Pet industry knowledge is a plus.

- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with policies
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and safety audits
- Drive business goals through strategic execution and team empowerment
