Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; foster open-door culture and high engagement.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions; ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; handle openings/closings and emergencies like pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates have retail management experience, strong leadership to empower teams, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, process improvement, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours.
