Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion outstanding service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; maintain compliance and inventory standards; lead events and openings/closings.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance; communicate objectives; prioritize safe environments and process improvements.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume settings, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and customer-centric operations. Proficiency in inventory tools, scheduling, and fostering engagement is essential.
