Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; build an open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; deliver outstanding pet parent service; conduct safety walks and compliance checks; manage inventory and events.
- Business Management: Analyze performance metrics, execute strategies for profitability, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and operational efficiency. Proficiency in customer service, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making is essential.
