Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion outstanding service, and execute daily business efficiently while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, training, and succession planning. Build an open-door culture, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers. Lead pet parent interactions, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, review security footage, and collaborate on events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume settings, proficiency in team development and customer service, and knowledge of inventory/safety protocols. Pet industry passion and financial acumen are highly valued. Must thrive in dynamic environments with flexible scheduling.
