Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; foster open communication, deliver reviews, and build engagement through recognition.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, monitor compliance via cameras, and collaborate on events with adoption groups.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability, analyze metrics, manage inventory, communicate objectives, and respond to business changes.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, P&L accountability, and skills in team motivation, customer service, and operational efficiency. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
