Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service, efficient execution, and targeted business results in a dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Oversee recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and associate development. Build an open-door culture, cascade business priorities, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements to boost engagement.
Store Experience & Operations
Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety and health, conduct monthly compliance walks, manage inventory, review security footage, and collaborate on events like adoption partnerships. Prioritize safety and uphold policies for associates, pets, and customers.
Business Management
Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, communicate objectives to leaders, and adapt to changing environments to deliver financial goals.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring retail management experience, proven leadership in team building and development, strong customer service skills, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Proficiency in operations, compliance, and fostering high-performance cultures is essential. Flexible scheduling and problem-solving abilities are key.
