Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, interview, hire, coach, and terminate associates; build open-door culture; manage scheduling, reviews, training, and succession planning; recognize achievements and resolve grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead associate and pet parent interactions; ensure pet safety; respond to concerns; improve processes; partner on events; maintain standards via monthly walks; prioritize safety and inventory; review cameras for coaching.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, financial savvy, and HR expertise. Must excel in customer service, delegation, and adapting to dynamic environments. Passion for pets and community engagement a plus.

- Maintain inventory levels and conduct monthly store walks for compliance
