Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; conduct reviews, recognize achievements, and resolve grievances to build an engaged team.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; lead pet parent interactions, events, and community partnerships; maintain standards via monthly walks and camera reviews.
- Operations & Financials: Manage inventory, communicate objectives, evaluate processes for improvement, and take action on pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, pet care knowledge, and a passion for customer service. Excel in delegation, conflict resolution, financial oversight, and fostering open communication. Experience in high-volume retail environments preferred.
