Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve targets, champion service excellence, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, develop, and recognize associates; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; address grievances and build open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks and camera reviews; manage inventory and events.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate with leadership team; communicate objectives; improve processes; enforce policies and ethical standards.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, strong team-building skills, customer service passion, financial savvy, and pet care knowledge. Must excel in delegation, conflict resolution, and fostering engagement in a fast-paced environment.

- Monitor store cameras, address risks, and ensure pet health & welfare
