Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while driving exceptional service and efficient daily execution.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with high engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; oversee inventory and compliance; partner on community events.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; review security footage for coaching; handle pet health emergencies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, expertise in P&L management, and a genuine love for pets. Key skills include team motivation, customer obsession, operational efficiency, and adaptability to dynamic retail demands.
