Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, performance reviews, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate interactions; ensure pet safety and health; conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and maintain policy compliance.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics, manage inventory, and optimize processes; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and development, expertise in customer service and operations, and a passion for pets. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, scheduling, and adaptability to a dynamic retail environment with flexible hours.
