Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager provides leadership oversight for store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. Drive company culture, achieve targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, mentor, and develop associates; handle reviews, grievances, and recognition to build engagement.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions and resolve concerns.
- Operations & Compliance: Manage inventory, conduct monthly walks and camera reviews, oversee openings/closings, and partner on events/adoptions.
- Financial & Strategic: Communicate objectives, evaluate processes, and drive continuous improvement for sales and efficiency.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with retail management experience, pet industry knowledge, strong HR acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include team empowerment, customer focus, operational excellence, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills (experience)
