Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient daily execution. Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and terminations. Build an open-door culture, cascade information, address grievances, and celebrate team achievements to boost engagement.
Store Experience
Lead pet parent interactions across channels, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, manage inventory, and prioritize a safe, compliant environment. Collaborate on events and community partnerships.
Business Management
Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze metrics, root-cause issues, communicate objectives, and drive continuous improvements in processes and services.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years in retail management, strong leadership in team development and customer service, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, operational execution, and adaptability in a flexible schedule.
