Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key metrics, champion outstanding service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and fostering an open-door culture with associate engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions, conduct safety walks, inventory compliance, and event partnerships.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals, analyze performance, optimize processes, review security footage for coaching, and cascade business objectives to the team.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume settings, proficiency in team development, customer service, and financial oversight. Pet industry knowledge is a plus. Key skills include effective delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and passion for pet care.
