Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, strategies, and results while championing exceptional service and efficient execution. This full-time role demands strong leadership to uphold our vision, mission, values, and strategies in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
Handle recruiting, hiring, coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and terminations. Foster an open-door culture, respond to associate feedback, and empower teams through mentoring, recognition, and succession planning.
Store Experience & Operations
Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, maintain store standards, and conduct monthly walks. Manage inventory, camera reviews, event collaborations, and immediate responses to pet health issues while prioritizing safety for all.
Business Management
Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities for optimal results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, financial oversight, and pet retail knowledge. Key skills include delegation, conflict resolution, data-driven decision-making, and fostering high engagement in fast-paced environments.
