Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key results, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; lead customer interactions; maintain standards via monthly walks and camera reviews; manage events and inventory.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; communicate objectives; prioritize safety and compliance.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, customer service, and operations. Key skills include financial acumen, conflict resolution, pet care knowledge, and adaptability to flexible schedules. Passion for pets and empowering teams is essential.

- Manage inventory, scheduling, and compliance with company policies
- Conduct store walks, camera reviews, and drive continuous improvement
- Foster team engagement through recognition, training, and succession planning
