Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experience, operations, financial performance, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted results, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, facilitate reviews, and build an open-door culture using feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct monthly walks, manage inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, root cause issues, and optimize processes for sales growth.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, customer obsession, data-driven decision-making, and compliance with safety protocols. California retail experience is a plus.
