Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for pets, associates, and customers; handle escalations; conduct compliance walks; manage inventory and events; review cameras for safety.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; cascade objectives; adapt to changing priorities; partner on community initiatives like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, P&L experience, and a passion for customer-centric service. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making.
