Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture and address grievances.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks; manage inventory and safety protocols; review cameras for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; partner on events and community initiatives like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, and a passion for pets. Key skills include team building, financial acumen, customer obsession, operational efficiency, and adaptability in a fast-paced retail setting. Pet industry knowledge is a plus.
