Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, customer experiences, operations, finances, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision by driving results, exceptional service, and efficient execution while building a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and foster engagement through recognition and feedback.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health; deliver outstanding pet parent service in-store, online, and via phone; lead events and maintain compliance via monthly walks.
- Business Management: Achieve profitability goals, analyze performance, manage inventory, review security footage for coaching, and execute corporate strategies.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, P&L accountability, and skills in team motivation, conflict resolution, and operational excellence. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
