Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution to uphold our brand promise.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets, associates, and customers; lead pet parent interactions; conduct safety walks; manage inventory and compliance; review cameras for accountability.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; communicate objectives; partner on events and community initiatives.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, and passion for pets. Key skills include team motivation, customer obsession, financial acumen, operational efficiency, and adaptability in dynamic environments. Experience in pet retail is a plus.
