Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) oversees all store operations in San Diego, CA, ensuring safety for people and pets, outstanding pet parent experiences, operational excellence, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, driving culture, strategies, and results while delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, schedule, and develop associates; conduct reviews, foster engagement, and handle grievances.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure safety and health of pets, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and review security footage for coaching.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and partner on events like adoptions.
Experience & Skills
Seeking leaders with 3+ years in retail management, expertise in team building, P&L accountability, and pet passion. Key skills include strategic delegation, feedback responsiveness, process improvement, and flexible scheduling adaptability. Experience in high-volume retail and animal care is ideal.
