Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive targeted outcomes, and ensure exceptional service while upholding our vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, and prioritize a safe environment.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies, analyze financials, optimize operations, and collaborate on events for profitability and growth.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership, customer service expertise, financial acumen, and passion for pets. Skills in team motivation, operational efficiency, and problem-solving are essential. Experience with pet care or retail P&L is a plus.

- Ensure compliance with policies, conduct monthly walks, and monitor store cameras
- Manage inventory, scheduling, and business objectives
- Foster associate engagement through recognition, training, and feedback

- Analyze performance metrics and execute corporate strategies
