Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's culture, drive strategies for exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, recognition, and succession planning; build an open-door culture.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent interactions, ensure pet safety, conduct compliance walks, manage inventory, review cameras for safety, and handle pet health issues.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance, communicate objectives, and optimize processes for continuous improvement.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, expertise in team leadership, customer service, operations, and financials. Key skills include strong communication, conflict resolution, pet welfare knowledge, and adaptability to flexible schedules. Passion for pets and proven results in high-volume retail settings are essential.
