Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. Based in San Jose, California, you'll drive PetSmart's culture, strategies, and exceptional service while ensuring compliance and team empowerment.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and foster an open-door culture with recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Champion pet safety and health; manage customer interactions, store standards, inventory, and events; perform safety walks and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze performance, communicate objectives, and adapt to changing priorities.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume stores, pet industry knowledge, and skills in P&L management, team motivation, and operational excellence. Proficiency in conflict resolution, data-driven decisions, and creating positive environments is essential.
