Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; manage schedules, performance reviews, and succession planning; foster an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety and health; conduct monthly walks, monitor cameras, and resolve concerns; partner on events and maintain standards.
- Business Management: Execute strategies for profitability; analyze metrics and root causes; manage inventory; communicate objectives to drive results.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, P&L experience, and a passion for customer service. Key skills include team motivation, operational efficiency, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making. Flexible availability is essential.
