Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion exceptional service, and ensure efficient daily execution while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, interview, hire, coach, and manage associate performance; build an open-door culture; create schedules; facilitate training, onboarding, and succession planning; recognize achievements and deliver timely reviews.
- Store Experience: Lead pet parent and associate experiences; ensure pet safety and health; resolve concerns; maintain store standards; conduct monthly walks; prioritize safety; manage inventory and camera reviews; handle sick pets and opening/closing procedures.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability; analyze performance metrics; communicate objectives; collaborate on events and community partnerships.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet industry knowledge, financial acumen, and a passion for customer service.
