Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll champion PetSmart's vision, mission, and values while delivering exceptional service and efficient execution in a fast-paced retail environment focused on pets.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe, healthy environments for pets and people; lead pet parent interactions, community events, and compliance with policies via monthly walks and camera reviews.
- Business Management: Analyze metrics, execute corporate strategies, manage inventory, and drive profitability through operational excellence and process improvements.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in team building and P&L accountability, passion for pets, and skills in customer service, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making. Flexibility for varied shifts is essential.
