Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive PetSmart's culture, strategies, and values to deliver exceptional service, efficient execution, and targeted business outcomes in a dynamic pet retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules, conduct reviews, and build an open-door culture with recognition and feedback tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure pet safety and health, deliver outstanding customer service, manage escalations, conduct safety walks, and maintain inventory standards.
- Business Management: Execute corporate strategies for profitability, analyze performance metrics, review security footage for coaching, and lead store events with community partners.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 3+ years of retail management experience, strong leadership in high-volume environments, pet care knowledge, and skills in financial oversight, team motivation, and process improvement. Proficiency in delegation, conflict resolution, and data-driven decision-making is essential.
