Role Overview
The Retail Store Manager (Store Leader) provides comprehensive leadership over store safety, pet parent experiences, operations, financial results, and HR functions. You'll drive company culture, achieve key targets, champion outstanding service, and execute daily business while upholding PetSmart's vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- People Leadership: Recruit, hire, coach, and develop associates; create schedules; facilitate reviews, training, and succession planning; build an open-door culture with engagement tools.
- Store Experience: Ensure safe environments for associates, pets, and customers; manage pet parent interactions; conduct monthly walks and camera reviews; oversee events and compliance.
- Business Management: Deliver profitability goals; analyze performance; optimize inventory; communicate objectives; handle openings/closings and emergencies like pet health issues.
Experience & Skills
Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in retail management, strong leadership in high-volume settings, expertise in team building, customer service, and P&L management. Passion for pets, adaptability to flexible schedules, and commitment to safety and ethical standards are essential.
